Eastern Free State

The mountainous landscape of the Free State provides tranquillity and scenic views; it runs along the majestic Drakensberg Mountains that forms a pictographic landscape at the back drop of the Eagle Route and Springbok Route, which changes with the seasons, from the bright colours of summer to the snow-clad slopes of winter. The landscape makes the routes one of the most scenic area in the province with rolling grassland, resorts and reserves nestled in this sandstone mountainous route. This is complemented by rock arts paintings, safaris, vulture restaurant, boat cruises, and cherry harvest festivities.
